ive smoked over an 8th today (thats alot for me, i normally go through a quarter in about 5 days) and nothing is helping. eatin dont do it, weed isnt doing it, i thought about having a drink, but nothing goes better with a drink then a smoke

Get the patch my friend, I used it and quit and haven't gone back. The smell of cigarettes makes me grossed out, well worth the money!

Trust me, no effect on the weed intake, and you won't want a smoke after you have your bong hit. : )

If you smoke less than a half a pack a day, you can start with step 2, then it's two weeks on that and then two weeks on step 3. I didn't even use all of step 3. If you smoke more than a half pack a day, then you have to start with step 1, and it's two weeks on that, then two on step 2, and so on. But like I said, I haven't gone back. I had one or two when I was drinking afterwards, but it made my stomach hurt and I didn't want them. So, definitely check it out.

If you smoke LESS than a half pack then you start on step 2...unfortunately for you buddy, step 1 you gotta start on. About $90-120 total for all three depending on where you buy it. Worth it in the long run. You figure $4/pack x 7 days, $28/week...the patch is a month's worth of smokes for ya.

I use to be at 3 packs a day - heres how I did it

1) move yourself now to extra mild
2) slowly each week take one away
3) try to smoke only when you have to - make it an urge rather than just habit (your trying to break a cycle here)
4) reward yourself when you hit 1 pack a day
Keep taking one away and try to smoke only when you have to. See what times during the day that you do it because your bored.

I am now down to 1 to 3 a day and am working on that final day when I will quite. The patch never helped me - made it worse

If you fall back dont beat yourself over the head, just start where you left off and keep pushing yourself.

i started smoking newports when i was 16, when i was about 20 i switched to marlboro light menthol, i cant seem to get any lighter than that, so now i've got a rule to only smoke when i drink (since i have to anyways). but then i find myself drinking 5 times/week. so i cut down to only drinking on weekends which means only smoking on weekends. well thats my current status, been doing it like this for about 2 weeks. hopefully i can ease into being a 100% quitter.

brand0n, i feel ya man, it sucks, its soooo hard, just depends on how much we want to quit

I've never smoked in my life and am actually allergic to it.

My whole family smokes and have all tried to stop at one time or another...

between them and Legacy I have found this...

figure out whether you are doing it out of habit or out of craving.. if it is out of habit then the patch will not help you! If it out of craving then the patch might. You also need a secure reason why you are doing it. For example I can't be around Legacy at all after he smokes... no kissing, hugging anything. So he's doing it for me.

If it is out of habit then it is a lot harder to quit then if it was a craving. Try to do other things with your hands...

ie:
always have a pen and pad to doodle
a straw which you can also suck in like a cig
sunflower seeds or any snack that you have to use your hands a lot is good

and like Legacy said.. don't forget to reward yourself when you go over a hurdle! Tell friends and family that you are trying to quit and possibly to encourage you when you're doing good and not be dissapointed if you step backwords...

good luck :tard:

Nicoderm CQ... It works, 100% works...

When you first start you will still want a smoke after food, not really want one but your mouth/body will kinda feel like it wants it but you wont crave it.

After a few days, this goes away.

Each time you step a level down, it takes a day or two to adjust.

I'm on step 3, 7mg patch right now, 2nd box. I'm almost done. I don't use it at night, and go for as many hours as I can throughout the day without it.

I should be done fully in about a week. It's real easy..

Just make an agreement with yourself that you won't cheat and have a smoke when you drink, or with a friend. Just stand your ground other wise you won't stop.

I smoke for about 3-4 years now and never really tried to quite, just didn't want to.
Now I feel like I should and I plan to quite from day one. Just stop it. It'll test my will power, and i'll quite at the same time.

I'll let you know how I do when I do it :)

Funny this topic show up

I'm trying to quit chewing, I have cravings all day, and I can almost resist these, but if I've had a few beers look the fuck out the cravings are BADD!

do these patches work for chewing?

i started smoking american spirits lights and smoked alot less cuz there slow burning.the best way to quit is roll yer smokes and only smoke a couple a day.after awhile you will be able to quit cold turkey.the gum and patches never work.
