Why do you do the conventions??

All my friends are at the shows. Sad, but after 8 years I don't have a single friend here in Oklahoma. Scooter lives a few miles away, but he is family so he doesn't count :haha
I prefer any show that my friends are at. And there is always a friend at one of the shows :thumb:

To make biz contacts, meet with personal friends and take in some different scenery.
I prefer shows on the West Coast and Florida. Both Internext's are a must, and the webmaster access/WYPD/Cybernet are necessities.

I go to meet new people and make more money for everyone.
The parties are great. Most of the people are great.
It's also nice to be in an environment where you can relate to most of the people.
You should see my friends eyes roll when I start talking SEO and conversion ratios :)

There is a long list of reasons to go to shows. Besides the fact that the parties are fun, I get to be with all of the people I talk to on a daily or weekly basis. It's odd that I talk to YNOT Bob every day of my life, but only see him twice a year. You get to catch up on everything - The things that you don't discuss via email, ICQ, or on the phone. Every time I go to a show I met new people - Some I've heard of before, and some I never knew existed.
On the other hand, the shows all become the same - same parties with the same people. After four years in the industry and two dozen shows, I'm not disappointed that I'm not going to Florida. This year I did Vegas, San Diego, and of course Phoenix. I'm doing Mexico, but that's on my dime and my vacation time. I have no burning desire to go to Florida.
My only disappointment is that I'm not going to meet Naughty Jenn. She's made some promises that would hard for her to live up to.....

I do the shows to get my name out there and to meet people in person, for business and pleasure....
I have met some of the greatest people in this industry. Some very true friends that I find myself missing and looking forward to seeing...
Also because it is only my 2nd show I find myself a little nervous and looking forward to meeting new people...Off the top of my head...PunkerBarbie is a must to meet...Im going to breakfast with Bob and Nikki Nevada...how pimp is that!! lol

Theres a couple reasons for shows:
1. Work related of course. Networking is always a plus
2. Parties. Never partied so hard in my life then some of the shenanigans to happen at these shows, its good people and good fun.
3. People. I have a lot of friends that I can only see at shows, and the more shows I go to the more often I can hang out with my friends.
4. Travel. Simple as that, I love to travel and visit new places :)
I prefer the smaller shows as opposed to the big ones. It gives me more time to get all my work done and be able to hit all the parties.
Thats why im not going to Internext, but i'll be in Mexico! :D

I go to meet up with clients and meet new ones. I love networking that's why I was chosen to do that for our mainstream stuff...A bit of a social butterfly if you will. I also enjoy burning people (only a few will get that). I like to make new contacts always. I have met a lot of great people in this industry and a few I call friends. This sometimes is the only way I get to see most of them. I go to keep my people in check and others filthy paws off them LOL j/k
I go to as many shows as possible. I don't mind the travelling and it's nice to get away sometimes!
And to party like a rockstar damnit LOL I have been to some of the best bashes at these events.
Oh yeah, and to see Ynot Bobs ballsack...You just can't get enough of that shit!

Get your conpany to pay for your flight.
Win a pass on a adult internet radio show.
Get CCbill to pick you up or a ICQ *buddy* at the airport.
DRINK YOU FACE OFF FOR FREE knowing full well you are never going to support the sponser . Act like an asshole and party with some hotties.
Sleep in and miss the semiars saying the show sucked. Bash the so call haters for calling you out on message boards and publicy apppologize for being a dick and it was the sponsers fault for feeds you all the tequilla or whateva.
Go thru the some bizzness cards when you get back and make refercrencs to how fuck up you were and normally not like that. Talk your way out of it on icq.
Do it all over again in two months
Any questions?

Lots of times I work with folks over phone/messengers/email so my favorite part about going to the shows is actually putting a face with a name.

The first show I went too was simply so I could party and get pics with pornstars. While I was there, I met and talked with several people who offered some great advice on increasing the productivity of my site(s).
The 2cnd show I went to, I went with the intentions of meeting people and learning everything I could in those few days and thanks to Sherm met a few GOOD contacts in the biz and the help I recieved has again helped me to better myself and my site(s).
I wont be making it to Florida, but I will be in Vegas again in Jan.
