I watched this Chris Hanson show on fraud the other day and it was staggering. This goes way beyond the email scams, all of it coming out of Africa it seems.
They would meet someone on line and trick them into believing that they were a young good looking model. Their targets were in their 40s, over weight, lonely men. They would claim they needed to send them stuff that they would have to forward to them in Africa. Then they would buy tons of stuff online, have it shipped to some lonley guy's house, and then he would send it to Africa with his own money. One guy who was so sorry looking it was funny, believed this woman wanted to marry him, and spent $40k of his own money shipping stuff to Africa - all of which was purchased with stolen credit cards.
The best part was the pictures they sent this guy.... Was purchased content.
